September 1 and 2

SongFest
Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA

New Triad will join Songfest for the first time presenting an exciting workshop focused on interdisciplinary training and dedicated to songs of Lori Laitman, culminating in a retrospective recital performance June 19th.

New Triad faculty will include Debra Wiley "Connecting with your Music", and Arlene Shrut " Musical Dynamics of Partnership". In addition to master classes and coachings, New Triad also welcomes working in tandem with Lori Laitman, who will offer insights for performing her songs. Lori will also compose a new piece commissioned expressly for Songfest called " The Act". As well as this premiere, the recital program will also include a West Coast premiere of another Laitman work.

June 16-19

Vancouver International Song Institute

New Triad looks forward to its first official residency at the Vancouver International Song Institute. New Triad faculty members who will be offering master classes and coachings include New Triad’s Founder and Artistic Director, Dr. Arlene Shrut and one of classical music’s most gifted young pianists, concert programmers and lecturers, Adam Marks. Arlene will concentrate on helping performers master the musical and partnership skills leading to powerful performances of song. These include clarifying the message of musical works, practicing inventively as a musical team and strengthening the awareness of art song recitals as chamber music. Adam Speaking will deal with comfortably speaking with an audience. By exploring what to say and when to say it, performers will create more individualized performances while constructing a more comfortable and supportive atmosphere for shared musical exploration.
